School Attendance

School Hours

Children should not be on school premises outside these times unless they are attending after school activities.

Interest of safety

In the interest of safety, children will not be allowed to leave the school premises during the day.

When a child has to leave you are asked to send a note outlining the arrangements being made for the collection of your child and to complete a form in the school office before collecting your child from the classroom.

It would be useful if you would let us know if your child is likely to be returning to school later in the day.

In the event of an emergency closure every attempt will be made to notify parents as soon as possible to enable them to make alternative arrangements.

Holiday Arrangements

Parents are encouraged to organise holidays outside term time. This ensures your child is not absent during term time.

Should holidays be arranged during term time the code G will be recorded in the Attendance Register in line with Department of Education Guidance.

Details for holiday arrangements for the current school year are available in the Appendix section.

If any changes are made you will be informed as soon as possible.

School Holidays

In St. Teresa’s good attendance and punctuality are encouraged. 100% attendance is acknowledged at Hallowe’en, Christmas, Easter and June each year.

Should your child be absent from school for any reason, parents should provide a letter of explanation on your child’s return to school. This facilitates the accurate completion of the Attendance Register.

A copy of the Attendance Policy is available on request. Details of the attendance record is included in the Appendix.
