Minecraft Education Challenge 2: Mission to Mars
In our 2nd challenge we were learning about the Mars Rover ‘Perseverance’, which landed on the surface of Mars in February 2021. Our task today was to build a robot that could be used to explore Mars. The children asked lots of questions and took time to think about what their robot would need. Some suggestions were: wheels, cameras, sensors, treasure chests with bottles to collect samples, air tanks, antennae etc... Some children decided to work on their own while others chose to work with a partner. We all taught each other a lot. Fantastic sharing of ideas and brilliant opportunities for problem solving and collaboration. Lastly, the class had to think of suitable names to reflect the mission of their robots. These included: Endurance, Determination, Curiosity, The Collector, Hope etc... Lots of learning and lots of fun!
